Bay Window Replacement Bid Information Web Site
This web site provides information to enable bids on a project to replace a bay window.
Home specifics:
- 1953 single family detached wood frame home with wood sidings (so there's no doubt lead paint on/in the house)
- Flat white painted drywall on interior
- Eaves extend 23" from front of house
Your firm must be able to provide documented proof that it is or has:
- Current California business license
- Insured
- Bonded
- Lead Certified
Bay window specifics:
- Size of opening in interior drywall: 106" wide by 52" high
- Appears to have been a rather cheaply-done 1970s retrofit to the existing front of the house

Job goals:
- Replace bay windows with new bay windows (or bay window module) by the end of October at the latest so that I can finish repainting the house before the fall rains
- Preserve home curb appeal
- Ensure there will be no further water intrusion in the future
- Potentially replace some front siding near the bay windows at the same time if can be done at reasonable cost (otherwise I'll just repair in place with wood hardener and epoxy as needed)
- Handle the replacement cost-effectively
Siding specifics (in case we decide to replace any of existing siding):
- Each board is 7.5" high
- Triangular shape: 9/16" at thickest point, 1/4" at thinnest

Ways to keep the job simple:
- I'm about to repaint the front of the house anyway, so you needn't worry about existing paint or minor paint damage.
- Open to replacing the custom bay window with a premanufactured bay window module. Suggestions welcome.
- Do not need to have bay windows that extend as far as current bay windows do beyond the eaves. (Nestling underneath the eaves is preferable!)
- We can be flexible about what days/hours the work gets done (and can also be out of the house when it's noisy).
- I work nearby so it's easy to drop by if you have questions, and I can monitor your progress remotely by video.
